About Us
In Richmond, Virginia, there are nine Seventh-day Adventist Churches,
a K-12 school, a K-10 school and a day care facility. Our membership is incredibly
diverse and our communities of faith are made up not only of Americans but
members from all over the world. If you would like to experience one

History
Officially founded in 1863, the Seventh-day Adventist Church was
born out of the Millerite movement of the 1840s. In expectant awaiting
for Jesus Christ’s second advent and a deep commitment to keeping
the Sabbath, the church has grown to almost 16,000,000 members worldwide.

Mission
Our mission of spreading the gospel to all nations, tongues and people,
has led the church to be established in 203 countries. Led by a commitment
to a holistic approach to salvation, the Seventh-day Adventist Church believes
in nurturing the spiritual, physical and mental aspects of each individual.
In this pursuit we have built more than 7,500 schools around the world, and
are known worldwide for our healthcare systems with more than 600 facilities
around the world.
